Two friends, one summer, and a little herbal inhaler

Scenic Breath started on a road trip in Thailand right after high school. Here’s how it happened, mistakes included.

Meet Sidd & Richard

Richard grew up all over South East Asia with his 3 siblings and is currently balancing university life in Belgium with growing Scenic Breath.

Sidd grew up in Thailand and took a gap year working on his project car after high school, before briefly moving to the US.

Summer 2023

Our journey

When we graduated high school in 2023, we realised we only had 2 months left to spend with our friends before everyone scattered across the world for university.

So once Richard flew back from Belgium to Thailand, we dedicated those 2 months to travelling and making as many memories as we could.

The road trip

Why we started

We road-tripped to Hua Hin, flew to Phuket, had a few sleepovers and hung out in the city. But we didn’t want it to stop there. We wanted to take trips like this as often as possible, so our friendship would last a lifetime.

The only problem? We were all broke (like most high school graduates). The whole trip, all we could think about was how much more fun it would be with just a little more money.

The idea

Where it started

Sidd mentioned he was going to start a business after the trip, since he was taking a gap year. Then Richard pitched the idea of selling nasal inhalers, inspired by the Thai herbal inhalers, to a more western market.

Everyone around us loved the herbal inhalers from Thailand, so we decided to try selling them abroad. And that’s how Scenic Breath was born.

Today

Where it is now

Fast forward to today, we’ve had plenty of ups and downs. We’ve tested ingredients, gathered feedback face to face and launched our product. But we’re not satisfied yet.

I like the packaging. The scent, it reminds me of the Halls cough drop, but like in your nose lol.

It's like a breath of fresh air. You do feel differently after you inhale it. I used to think Thais walking around with this was ineffective, but when I took a drag on this... mann I could feel the difference! I couldn't believe it.

They’ve been really great, I have asthma and I’ve found they really open my airways up, I don’t need my inhaler much these days anyway as much as I did when I was a kid but it still really helps if I’m feeling a little out of breath to just sit for a minute and use the stick
